HSV to ColorTone Converter Tool

HSV to ColorTone Converter is a free browser-based online color converter that quickly converts HSV color values into the closest matching ColorTone values with fast and accurate results.

What is the HSV color model?

As human beings, we mainly observe the RGB color model. That color model includes the three primary colors, Red, Green, and Blue. The RGB color model combines these three primary colors at various intensities (0 to 255) to generate a number of other colors.

However, discussing more intense color structures requires more exact intensities. The HSV color model is the best suitable to describe that.

HSV is closer to how humans perceive colors. It includes three components: Hue, Saturation, and Value.

Hue:

In the HSV color model, the hue represents the area in the angle (degrees) each color covers in a color hexagon.

  • From 0 to 60 degrees, Red falls.
  • From 61 to 120 degrees, Yellow falls.
  • From 121 to 180 degrees, Green falls.
  • From 181 to 240 degrees, Cyan falls.
  • From 241 to 300 degrees, Blue falls.
  • From 301 to 360 degrees, Magenta falls.

Saturation:

Saturation value represents the amount of gray in a particular color and how saturated that color is, ranging from 0 to 100.

Value (or Brightness):

The value represents the color's brightness, ranging from 0 to 100. Where 0 is completely black, and 100 is the brightest.

What is the ColorTone Color System?

The ColorTone color system is a color reference system that helps identify visually similar colors based on their digital values. It provides a consistent way to compare and match colors across different color models, making it easier for designers, developers, and digital artists to work with accurate color conversions.

Why is HSV to ColorTone Conversion Important?

HSV is widely used in color pickers, image editing software, design applications, and graphics tools because it closely matches how humans perceive colors.

Converting HSV values to ColorTone makes it easier to find visually similar colors for design projects, digital artwork, branding, user interfaces, and other creative applications while maintaining consistent color selection.

How to Convert HSV to ColorTone Online?

To convert the HSV to ColorTone, perform the following steps.

  • Open the HSV to ColorTone online converter.
  • Please enter the Hue, Saturation, and Value (Brightness) values in their provided sections.
  • You can also refer to the "color palette" for the possible close selection of the required color.
  • From the dropdown, select the "Distance" value (16, 32, 48, 64, 80, 96).
  • The converter will display the closest matching ColorTone values.

Note: Lower distance values return colors that are closer to the selected HSV value. Increasing the distance provides a wider range of similar ColorTone matches.
