    What is an IP Address?

Many regular internet users do not have any idea what actually is an IP Address and what importance it holds regarding the Internet. IP Address is the backbone of the Internet, and without an IP Address, the Internet would disappear. It is a combination of a sequence of numbers that starts from zero and goes up till 255. An IP Address looks like 192.168.1.1. The decimal numbers in an IP Address have four groups; each group can have a possible value starting from 0 to 255.

An IP Address is a short form of Internet Protocol Address. It serves as an identifier for each user connected to the Internet. The IP Address tells the computers and networking devices to send data to that particular device that requested the data.

Example: A user connected to the Internet opens a website in their browser. In this case, the browser sends IP of user with the request, and the requested website knows who tried to open their site, and the site sends the particular response to that specific user who requested it. In this way, every request on the Internet carries your device's IP Address to communicate with computers or devices all along the Internet.

    What is IP Geo-Location?

The term IP Geo-Location represents the Geographical Location of any user connected to the Internet. Whenever a device connects to the Internet, their IP Address is visible to everyone to whom the Internet user interacts.

For example, if a user browses a site, the site owner or webmaster can see the IP and can track the geographical location of that IP or user.

In the same way, if someone sends an email to anyone, the IP Address of the email sender is attached to the source code of email. The email receiver can easily track the location of the email sender through their IP Address.

Another example is: If a user tries to download a file from the Internet, the remote server (where the file exists) can track the location of the file downloader.

How to Find Geo-Location of an IP Address

The Geo-Location of any IP Address is easy to track. Several Geo-Location public databases are available for finding the location of any IP Address that exists on the Internet. For this purpose, we have made a special tool for Checking IP Location with our four favorite GeoLocation providers. Note: This tool does not tell the live location of an IP. The live location of a user can only be seen when the user explicitly permits an app or a website to access location data through their mobile, tablet, or browser.

The location data is just an estimate of the IP Address Location and is not the exact location of the user.
