What is IP Blacklist Checker?

Our IP blacklist checker is a free online tool that checks if an IP address, domain, or email IP appears on DNSBLs, RBLs, and other reputation databases.

DNSBLs stand for DNS-based Blackhole Lists, while RBLs stand for Real-time Blackhole Lists. These are both databases that contain IP addresses known for sending spam, malware, or unwanted internet traffic.

DNSBLs and RBLs are used by email servers to check the blacklist status of senders' IP addresses. If the IP appears on any of these lists, the receiving server may reject the email or send it to the spam folder.

Our IP blacklist checker analyzes IP addresses against multiple DNSBL, RBL, and reputation databases. You can use it to perform:

  • IP blacklist check
  • Domain blacklist check
  • Email blacklist check

Why Blacklist Check is Needed?

Blacklist checks help you find issues and fix them before they affect your online assets. With our blacklist master tool, you can perform three different checks, each serving a different purpose.

1. IP Address Blacklist Check

Sometimes you are unable to access certain online services and platforms because your IP address is blacklisted. The reason can be different, for example, suspicious activity or behavior.

Using our blacklist master tool, you can check IP blacklist status. It will show you whether your IP address is flagged among databases. This enables you to take the necessary measures to resolve the issue.

2. Email Blacklist Check

If an email address gets blacklisted, email delivery will start failing. Often, an email lands in the spam folder. That is why you should check your email to ensure it has a good sending status.

3. Domain Blacklist Check

For website owners, a domain reputation is crucial. It is a must to check your domain to protect your brand and website visibility. If your domain is blacklisted, it can affect email trust and even harm your SEO performance.

Why do IP Addresses get Blacklisted?

An IP address gets blacklisted when it shows unsafe or unwanted activity. This helps protect users from spam and harmful content.

  • Sending too many spam emails: Sending a large number of unwanted emails can lead to blocking.
  • Spreading viruses or malware: Sharing harmful links or infected files makes the IP unsafe.
  • Weak security setup: Poor server settings allow misuse and unauthorized email sending.
  • Too many spam reports: User complaints reduce the trust level of the IP.
  • Low open rates: Getting your emails ignored by a high number of recipients can also get your IP address blacklisted.
  • Sudden high activity: A quick jump in email volume can look suspicious.

You should check your IP often to avoid these problems.

How Do IP Blacklists Work?

  1. Blacklist operators monitor abuse across the internet.
  2. Reports are collected from spam traps, email providers, and security systems.
  3. Suspicious IP addresses are added to blacklist databases.
  4. Mail servers query reputation databases before accepting incoming email.
  5. Listed IPs may be blocked or marked as spam.

How to Get Your IP/Domain Delisted from Blacklists?

If your IP is blacklisted, you can fix it with a few simple steps:

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my IP blacklisted?

To see if your IP address is blacklisted, run your IP address through the IP blacklist checker tool. It will show you whether your IP address is listed or not among different IP blacklist databases.

What are IP blacklist databases?

IP blacklist databases store IP addresses that send spam, malware, or unwanted traffic. Email servers and security tools check these lists before accepting connections. Popular IP blacklist databases include:

  • Spamhaus (very widely used)
  • Barracuda Reputation Block List
  • Spamcop
  • SORBS (Spam and Open Relay Blocking System)

Is an IP blacklist the same as an email blacklist?

No, they are different. An IP blacklist blocks the IP address. So, all emails sent from that IP can be affected. An email blacklist targets a specific email address or domain. In this case, only that email or domain gets affected, not the whole IP.

Does using a VPN or proxy server help bypass IP blacklisting?

Using a VPN or Proxy server helps you bypass the blacklists most of the time. You can use top VPNs to mask your IP. However, some Blacklists also identify the IP Addresses associated with VPNs or proxies that are involved in spam activities.

Can a shared hosting IP become blacklisted?

Yes, a shared hosting IP gets blacklisted easily. Because on shared hosting IPs, multiple websites are running at the same time. And any suspicious or spammy activity by any one of them can damage the IP's reputation, which will affect everyone using it.

How long does blacklist removal take?

Some blacklists remove IPs automatically, while others require a removal request. The time depends on the blacklist provider and why the IP was listed. Most IPs are removed within 1 to 3 days after the problem is fixed. If the issue continues, the IP may stay on the blacklist longer.
